Q What do you mean by your statement that Christianity and other religions have had many years to prove themselves and yet all remains the same?
A: Hmmmmm . . . now you have me thinking, . . . so in a somewhat disjointed and personal account I will tell you of my adventure into Christianity as well as why I chose to exit it.
First of all, we all come to Christ for a reason and many times that reason is different than others reasons.
In my hippie stage I experimented with LSD and because of those experiences I began to see things differently. In a very short time this elite airborne soldier from the projects did a complete reversal and morphed into a spiritual, caring, artistic type person. My come-to-Jesus moment came a couple years later.
I went into Christianity with a vision of unity among all men . . . Jesus was going to save the world . . . the killing would someday stop and peace would prevail . . . same stuff all Christians believe I suppose. . . . I soon realized that these well meaning people were lost in rules and look good, but meaningless doctrine . . . and going in circles. I learned through experience that it’s a hell of a lot easier to expound upon Jesus and worship him than it is to follow his teachings. And this is the crux of the matter and why I left the Christian church.
I never worried about being saved from my sins, or going to hell or heaven, or any of that stuff the church has build themselves on through the years. My concern was then and still is to this day . . . the unity of all men and their taking up the cause that I believe we were all created for in the first place. . . to be caretakers over this planet and all life upon it.
All the feel good, glory and prayers, and piles of bullshit don’t fit when I look around and see what we, the caretakers, have done to this planet in the name of greed. And really, if we can’t even TRY fulfilling that calling what the hell are we good for?
Jesus was a great TEACHER, perhaps the greatest ever. What is the goal of every great teacher concerning his students? Do they want worship? No. Do they want a class of students who have learned and excelled to greatness because of His teaching? Yes. (the works that I do you shall do greater because I go to the father)
I believe Jesus was a real guy who had a real message . . . the rest of the stuff can be argued, but it seems to me we should be more concerned about our duties as caretakers than whether we get to heaven or not. . . . especially when (as I believe) heaven is right here. . . . hell is right here. . . . this our place. There is no escaping it for a paradise in the sky.
We are far more than we have been taught. We have far more spiritual power than we have been taught. We are creators in our own right. Creation has given us our Heaven and we are quickly re-creating it into our Hell.
We have been kept down and in our place by those who have convinced us that we are unworthy and corrupted. Sinners in need will never take up the banner and charge the hill, they are only good for the local bar and the telling of war stories.
I have found this work must be done from within and all the ‘show and no go’ does little but keeps us in the prison house of doubt.
I have dedicated my future life to myself and my reawakening to the mission. (that mission is as different to each man as his fingerprints) I am learning my mission as I go and I am committed to it with all my strength of soul. . . . (that’s what I mean when I say the lone trail) that’s why I say the church is going in circles and all religion has fallen short of the calling. The call to arms is not the call to prayer and devotion . . . it is the call to arms.
Anyway that should answer your question. 🙂
Q: What do you mean when you say we humans are very powerful? I certainly don’t feel that way.
A: First of all, you must realize I am not talking about PHYSICALLY powerful. Actually, when put up against the rest of the mammalian world, we are not at all physically powerful . Actually for our size we are one of the weakest beings in all of creation.
Think of our first ancestors living conditions and you can see quite easily that a lot of the fear we project, even today, is justified. Early man trying to live on prehistoric tundra must have been scared shitless most of the time because everything loved the taste of his blood. How we ever survived at all must be considered a huge overcoming.
Of course, unlike other species on this planet, we are not left to instinct alone. Our brains are also hard wired into the universal mind. Call it what you will, (God, evolution, etc.) but we humans are able to receive and act upon instruction from an outside source. Had that not been true and we had been forced to rely upon instinct alone, we would have gone extinct eons ago. Power comes to us in the form of creative imagination, reason, and the ability to change direction mid stream by choosing an entirely different course of action.
On the downside, because of latent herding instincts and fear of the unknown, we are easily conned. Alongside that, place a total lack of spiritual understanding and we become weakened to the point of giving our minds away to the first usurper who can convince us that he knows best because he is smarter than us . . . or wealthier . . or God’s chosen . . . or a zillion other scams.
These brain eaters walk among us in large wolf-like packs and are willing to do whatever it takes to get their hands on our brains. They are hungry and when dumbed down enough, we are more than willing to feed our fear ridden souls to them.
Our great shame comes in not understanding WHY we have been created with this power in the first place. We have many answers and reasons for our advanced state of being, but are any of them correct? If it sounds good it has to be true right?
The brain eaters tell you that you are the chosen, the anointed ones, the sons of God, the special, the elite . . . all sorts of things, they tell you everything except WHY you are here to begin with.
And why is that?
In my opinion [as well as deep belief] we were created with a larger and more advanced brain mass only because our Creator needed a caretaker he could talk to, a caretaker who could understand and fulfill his command to love, honor, and cherish this natural creation as if it were His/our own . . . because it is.
I must also say, that although the gifted promise was great . . . our actions upon it have been horrendous, and because of them, we are destroying this natural garden and creating a hell for ourselves. Does anybody ever stop to think that maybe this is our heaven and that story about dying and going anywhere else is bullshit?
What if we just happen to find ourselves right back here again? The way we are going, next time it may just be a nuclear waste dump . . . won’t that be a fun time?
Following are a few verses in the Christian bible where God pretty much includes everything and everybody into His wrath because of their idolatrous nature.
King James Version (KJV)
- For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
- Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
- For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Ok, let’s pretend I’m God and I’m trying to tell you guys something, but you’re aggravating me because you’re not listening.
ME: Ok guys look here. This planet I made is for you. Now the reasons why I made it is none of your business, but I want you to know what I expect you to do with it.
YOU: Oh most holy God we could never understand the glory and the greatness and the wonder and . . .
ME: Shut up and listen to me will you?! This is important! I need your full and undivided attention here.
ME: Creating a physical presence out of spiritual nothingness is tricky business, but I am very proud to say I have accomplished it. This planet is one beautiful place . . . but it is not perfect. That part I left up to you guys.
Now, listen up. The reason I created you guys in the first place is that I need you to be my caretakers . . . your duties will be to TAKE CARE of everything I made and keep it in order.
That means everything that is alive. You also have been given the power to create. That means this whole project can become your heaven or if you go stupid on me . . . your hell.
YOU: Oh thank you great and wonderful and wise and holy . . .
ME: You guys testing me?? . . . Now, the way it works is that everything that is alive is ME . . . just take my word for it . . . that means as you study the environment, the flora, the fauna, and all the creeping things and all the animals . . . you are studying, and getting to know, ME.
This is the only way we can communicate and the only way we will ever communicate. You cannot come to me because I AM already here. I am also YOU.
When you are asked my name by your children and your children’s children just tell them I AM . . .
Ok . . . I love you, I will always be with you . . . now get busy!
YOU: Oh thank you great and wonderful and wise and holy . . .
ME . . . (silence). . . . . . . .
YOU: GOD!! Where are you?? . . . Quick, set up an altar! Pray . . .Pray! . . . Pray!! . . . WHERE IS HE?
We are so afraid! Hurry we must subdue this planet . . . Kill all these animals and sacrifice them . . . Get rid of these damn trees!
OH MY GOD! WE forgot what He said already . . . Quick, write a book! . . . Build a temple! . . . We need an image! . . . We need something or someone to worship! . . . we need . . . We Need . . . WE NEED!!
Off in the distance a cloud formed dark and ominous and full of lightning and thunder. It grew until it encompassed the entire ocean. It moved inland towards the frightened caretakers as they bowed before their altars and prayed for deliverance.
The cloud burst upon them and pummeled them with rain for forty days and forty nights until every vestige of humanity had been erased off the planet. Man had once again drowned in his own ignorance. . . . by his own choice.
God wept, but soon He began again.
Q: Do you approve of president Trump’s environmental agenda?
A: In a word . . . no. I believe Trump is ignorant and misinformed when it comes to the question of global warming. When it comes to the question of pollution he is dodging and looking the other way because he is ignorant of the realities on the ground.
Perhaps his ignorance is so prevalent because he lives in New York City in a golden tower and the only nature he ever sees are his well groomed golf course grounds. Regardless, he is one of the cancerous breed who sees the lands of this planet as an adversary to be exploited and compromised pretty much the same way they deal with smaller mineral rich countries.
Personally, I have a problem believing he is so stupid NOT to see that the environment is taking a very heavy beating right now. One that will only get worse with his meddling. I don’t think he really cares though as long as he gets what he wants.
I know his stated interest lays in the jobs market and he does seem to be doing all he can to further the goal of getting this country working again, but he is wealthy and all his friends are wealthy and those kind of people see the world from a different perspective than us normal folks do. I believe he cares little for ‘we the people’ and is mainly pushing jobs in order to create a broader profit margin for him and his buddies. They need people who are willing to man their machines, that’s about the extent of his caring.
I don’t believe much has been done in real time to save the environment since 1970 and the advent of Nixon’s EPA and the clean air/water/land acts. Say what you will about old ‘tricky Dick’ but he helped create the sweeping environmental laws that put the industrial giants on notice and caused them to slow their mad dash to destruction.
I believe it was the Reagan administration who began taking the teeth out of the environmental movement and now with Trump in office, his desire seems to be, in general, to kill the whole thing . . . and he is currently doing a good job of it.
Trump is so egocentric that he can not see beyond the mirror on his gold flecked wall. I predict he will go down in history as the man who killed the environment movement in America. (if we allow that to happen) We the people need to wake up and get the train back on it’s tracks.
Q: What can we do about global warming?
A: I believe that because of differing opinions coming from the scientific community as well as from the corporate state we will never get a clear answer to that question and even if we did we’d have no luck in changing anything of substance. Halfway measures and shouting would surely not do it and I see little else taking place.
Were we to get serious about any of this global warming it would take a vast amount of sacrifice to make the change and probably a great amount of backing up on our usage of natural resources. We are a forward moving people. We will never voluntarily give up anything we enjoy in large enough numbers to do anything like that. So I’d say let’s put the unproven argument on the shelf and make a full frontal attack on pollution.
Pollution is right there in our face and has been since at least Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring. It’s in our water supply. It’s in our food supply. It’s in our air supply. It’s so obvious that only an abject fool can use the ‘man made vs natural occurrence’ argument because everywhere we look we are being overrun by pollution. And if we don’t get our s–t together and deal with it like it was an enemy of the State, we are going to be overrun and destroyed by it.
Changing the words ‘global warming’ to ‘pollution’ does not change the actions we need to be taking in order to counter it at all, it merely disallows people like the paid off scientists, and shills for big oil to convince fools like president Trump and his administration, who are so ignorant of the facts they are even now downgrading hard fought for safeguards like the clean air and clean water acts. Of course all of this is being done in the name of jobs.
My question is: What good is a job to me in a nation that has eaten itself up in order to provide it? What am I going to do with my earnings if my water, my air, and my land is poisoned to death by the toxic after effects of the job?
Like the old Abenaki Indian said . . . Canada, [as well as the US] the most affluent of countries, operates on a depletion economy which leaves destruction in its wake. Your people are driven by a terrible sense of deficiency. When the last tree is cut, the last fish is caught, and the last river is polluted; when to breathe the air is sickening, you will realize, too late, that wealth is not in bank accounts and that you can’t eat money. . . .
This blog is dedicated to Q&A . . . questions come from you . . . answers come from me. If you have a question feel free to ask by using the comments section or e-mail me at email@example.com . . . I’ll try to help or at least give my opinion.
Q: What about credentials? Are you just an old hillbilly like the title of this site says?
A: 1 . . . I have no social science degrees if that’s what you’re asking. I am a 75 year old man who has learned and studied the human condition via the two greatest teachers available to us all . . . experience and observation. My only desire is to share what life has taught me. . . my goal is not to wow you with my knowledge and intelligence, it is to wow YOU with yours. That is certain to happen once you break the matrix and see for yourself what you really are . . . a highly evolved, creative spiritual being. . . . This is no prelude to buying or joining anything.
2 . . . I moved to this small valley in the Appalachian foothills about ten years ago and consider myself a hillbilly by choice because I believe the ‘down home’ way to be the only way I wish to live. I find great comfort roaming these hills and studying nature. It is here I feel the strongest ‘connection’ to all living things.
